Our Blue Planet, has been arranged in the form of a classic overture and is a musical portrait of our beautiful, but fragile planet. A slow solemn hymn (Andante religioso) sings about the beauty of the Earth as seen from space. A short accelerating motif, first stated by the horns, and then taken over by the entire orchestra, shifts the focus much closer. During the closing Allegro Spiritoso, we learn about the vast amount of life and busy activity here on Earth.
