This fourth and last volume of a textbook series for drum sets is for matured players who have gone a long way already. This volume continues with the series of exercises, maintaining the basic division of chapters to beat-rock, jazz and dance rhythms.
This volume concentrates mainly on solo play, but we can find here also chapters on phrasing, irregular rhythms, breaks and revision exercises. The most extensive is therefore the chapter on solo, where we will use various play techniques, such as paradiddles, accents, both-handed hi-hat play, variations on foot hi-hat play, etc.
There are also two new chapters included: playing two bass drums (double-pedal) and exercises for two players (duets). In duets, the drumset player only has a short notation in a certain style at his/her disposal and it is up to his/her fantasy and abilities to work with the part. The other percussion player has a standard notation at his/her disposal. In the last chapter you can again find examples of dance and other often used rhythms.
